Hey there, I’m Andrew Jacquet, a writer and self professed communications expert. I’ve had an illustrious career spanning just over five years at some of the world’s most exemplary media companies and have considerable experience in all sides of the creative process including copy writing, content writing, graphic design, videography, customer analytics, and of course, damage control. Here’s everything you need to know about my professional experience, and even a couple of things I could have kept to myself.

my career

The Bombay Report (2016 – Present | Co-Founder

I’m the founder and lead writer of The Bombay Report, an acclaimed if not mildly notorious local website with a monthly viewership of over 15,000 and the 2018 winner of the FBAI (Food Blogger’s Association of India’s) Best Restaurant Review. During my tenure, I worked with companies like Time Out, So Cheers, and Urbane Magazine, as well as restaurants like Desi Deli, Indizza, Boston Butt, Coma Coma, & many others, creating humorous reviewsepic music, & documentary-style videos. To this day, the website retains its very passionate fan base.

Disney+ Hotstar (Jan 2019 – Jul 2020) | Copywriter

I was part of the team responsible for launching Disney+ in India in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic having joined as a consultant during the Game Of Thrones Season 8 launch. Unlike the show, my copies were well received and I was asked to join the company full-time. My primary role entailed acquiring paid subscribers to the platform, through various marketing tools, including push notifications, emailers, Google Ads, and Facebook posts. Many copies I’ve written have been viewed by hundreds of millions of people across India.

Communicate India (Jan 2018 – Feb 2019) | Writer

I was writer at the up-and-coming Public Relations firm Communicate India, where I, under adult supervision, created and executed PR & branding strategies for clients across multiple industries. This included pharmaceuticals, tech, real-estate, hospitality, healthcare, tourism, and of course, political advocacy (which I’m not at liberty to discuss). Some of the companies I serviced included Hard Rock Cafe, Blaupunkt, Reliance Jewels, and Hershey’s.

Discovery (Jun 2017 – Jan 2018) | Design Consultant

I lived every 9-year-old’s dream and had the opportunity to work at the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and TLC. Aside from designing much of the company’s ad-sales creatives, and assisting in sales strategy, I also helped in the creation of Advertiser Funded Programming. This entailed creating and airing special, long-form TV shows designed to promote an individual sponsor. Two of the biggest shows I worked on were Breaking Point and Queens Of Comedy.

Star TV (Oct 2015 - May 2016) | Strategy Consultant

I worked in the Product & Revenue Strategy team of Star TV’s Hindi movie channels Star Gold and Movies Ok, where I designed content-integrated brand solutions for cinematic masterpieces like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Additionally, I served as a graphic designer and was responsible for the creation of presentations, emailers, posters, and even cakes.

India.com (Mar 2014 – Jul 2014) | Content Writer

I was a content writer for the popular online portal India.com, where I created numerous articles, averaging up to three a day, on various topics ranging from contemporary music and psychology, to ancient historyfictionsports, cinema, ancient weapons, the viability of a zombie apocalypse, and of course, conspiracy theories, which I’ll be happy to share both on request and unsolicited.
